Fiona Hitchcock

Managing Director

Fiona has over 25 years of experience – Brand Strategy, Brand Architecture, Identity and Brand Design (2D and 3D); Collateral design, Environmental design (retail and corporate), Signage design and development. Brand Engagement, Brand Activation and Website and Social Media design and development are also her areas of expertise.

She has solid experience in advertising, communication, classical marketing and print and production, which provides depth of context to any Brand project she is involved in. She has worked extensively in Africa, primarily Nigeria and Mauritius and has also worked in Rwanda, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Namibia, Mozambique, and Morocco.

Fiona joined forces with creative partner Maciek Michalski, in March 2015 to form the Hitchcock Michalski group of companies, comprising Hitchcock Michalski Africa and Hitchcock Michalski.

She’s contributed an article to a Financial Times initiative, within the Banker magazine, ‘The value of people in the management of your brand’, globally published & distributed (Brand Engagement).


Maciek Michalski

Design Director

Maciek started an intimate affair with design after completing a National diploma at Wits Technikon.

During a highly successful stint at Enterprise IG working on brands such as ABSA, KFC, Southern Sun, Nedbank and Pezula, he was approached by Joe Public to launch their new design division in November, 2006.

Whilst heading up the design studio, he grew his department into a large contributing factor to the group’s creative edge – substantiated by 1 Loerie Grand Prix, 8 Gold, 15 Silver and 14 bronze Loerie awards. 2010 Cannes Bronze, Clio Silver, Ad of the Year. 2011 One Show Merit, Clio Silver, Cannes Silver.

He was ranked in the Top 3 SA Creative Directors in 2014 by Financial Mail Ad Focus (as Director Shift Joe Public).

In 2015 Maciek joined forces with managing partner, Fiona Hitchcock.


Donald Chauke

Account Director

Donald started with Hitchcock Michalski as an intern, in 2014, and has rapidly proven himself in every area of the business. He has applied himself to his studies, with determination and excellent results. He displays initiative and enthusiasm. He is eager to learn and takes on additional responsibility with alacrity.

He is an outstanding and worthy candidate to benefit from the growth and development of Hitchcock Michalski Africa and we look forward to many successful years together. Donald has developed experience in client services, print production and general account management. He has also developed strong written communication skills and is an excellent team player.
